For the cultural minded, Austin has a community theatre group, children's theatre group and an orchestra. The historic Paramount Theatre presents concerts and shows almost every week-end throughout the year.
If you like to keep active, we have soccer, tennis, football, baseball, basketball and of course, hockey for all ages. Biking and walking trails wind throughout the city along the Cedar River, around our two lakes and throughout the parks. There are 3 golf courses and 2 disc golf courses. If you're thinking "organic", fresh produce can be purchased from the Farmer's Market twice a week. If you're retired, stay busy and make new friends at the Senior Center. We truly are a community for all ages and all interests.
Austin is conveniently located 40 minutes from Rochester and about 1 hour 15 minutes from all the amenities of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area including the Mall of America, award winning restaurants, museums, 2 horse racing tracks, casino, amusement park and all major professional and college sports.
